En Mayo de 2018 se celebrará en Cáceres (España) el Congreso Euro-Americano REHABEND 2018 sobre “Patología de la Construcción, Tecnología de la Rehabilitación y Gestión del Patrimonio” organizado por 14 entidades de 9 países Europeos y Americanos, y dirigido por la Universidad de Cantabria, a través de su el Grupo de Tecnología de la Edificación (GTED-UC), y la Universidad de Extremadura.

Este Congreso de 2018 es continuación de los 6 eventos internacionales REHABEND que desde 2006 se han venido celebrando en diferentes ciudades españolas; teniendo lugar el último en Burgos en 2016, donde se presentaron 309 ponencias por Profesionales e Investigadoes de 32 Países, y que devino en una Conferencia del máximo interés, tal como reconocieron los Congresistas.

La enorme importancia que actualmente tienen para la Construcción los temas de Patología, Tecnología de la Rehabilitación y Gestión del Patrimonio que aborda REHABEND, ha movido a los Organizadores a plantear un nuevo foro técnico sobre estas materias en la ciudad de Cáceres (sede de un impresionante Casco Historico de Estilo Medieval, Renacentista, que es Patrimonio de la Humanidad desde 1986), en donde se persigue recoger los avances habidos en los últimos años en los conocimientos teóricos y en las realizaciones prácticas llevadas a cabo. El Congreso espera reunir más de 250 contribuciones técnicas, provenientes de profesionales, profesores universitarios y especialistas.

Dadas las experiencias previas y el ámbito geográfico de influencia de los organizadores, se ha planteado nuevamente el Congreso en el espacio cultural Euroamericano adoptando como lenguas oficiales del evento el Español, el Ingles, el Portugués y el Italiano. Los Artículos Técnicos y Ponencias que se presentarán, con el apoyo de material gráfico y esquemas, pueden ser perfectamente entendidos por los Técnicos de cualquiera de estos países, tal como se puso de manifiesto en 2016 y 2018.

Bajo estas premisas, y con los buenos antecedentes existentes, el Congreso contará con el PATROCINIO  del Gobierno de España, de la Junta e Extremadura, la Diputación de Cáceres, del Ayuntamiento de Cáceres, la Universidad de Cantabria y la Universidad de Extremadura. Asimismo, varias Universidades, Colegios Profesionales, Fundaciones, Asociaciones, Institutos y Empresas han comprometido su COLABORACIÓN en aras al éxito de esta iniciativa.

Los Organizadores de REHABEND 2018 quieren agradecer los múltiples apoyos recibidos por el Congreso: A las entidades Patrocinadoras y Colaboradoras; a los miembros del Comité Científico por su trabajo de revisión de las diferentes contribuciones técnicas, velando por el exigido nivel de calidad de las mismas; a los Conferenciantes de las sesiones plenarias; y a los diferentes Ponentes y Congresistas en general, por sus relevantes contribuciones y por la confianza mostrada en el Congreso. Presentation

The Euro-American Congress REHABEND 2018 about “Construction Pathology, Rehabilitation Technology and Heritage Management” is going to take place in Cáceres (Spain), in May 2018. The event is organized by 14 organizations of 9 European and American countries, and it is co-chaired by the University of Cantabria, through its Building Technology R&D Group (GTED-UC) and the University of Extremadura.

REHABEND 2018 continues the series of the five previous REHABEND international events, which have been developed since 2006 in different Spanish cities. The last one, in  2016, was carried out in Burgos. In 2016 edition, more than 309 papers by Professionals and Researchers of 32 countries were presented and it became a conference of great interest according to the people who attended the congress.

Construction Pathology, Rehabilitation Technology and Heritage Management currently have great importance for construction sector. It therefore ha prompted a new technical event about these topics in Caceres (that have a impressive Historic Center, Medieval and Renaissance´s style, which is a World Heritage Site since 1986). The aim of this new event is too collect the advances obtained in the last two years in the theoretical knowledge and practical realizations carried out about the referred topics. The Congress expectative, its to meet more than 250 technical contributions coming from professionals, academics and specialists.

Based on previous experiences the Congress has been proposed once again in the Euro-American cultural space. The official languages are English, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. Organizers understand that technical articles and oral presentations, with the support of graphic material and schemes, may be understood by the people who take part in the congress, as it was evident in REHABEND 2016 and 2018.

Under these premises and the successful previous editions, the Congress is going to be SPONSORED by the Government of Spain, the Government of Extremadura, the Deputation of Caceres, the University of Cantabria and the Universidad de Extremadura. In addition, several Universities, Techincal and Professional Associations, Institutes, Foundations and Companies have committed their COLLABORATION in order to the success of this initiative.
